Are you using a PC or a Mac? |
Currently the system runs on Windows computers and is not compatible with Macs. |
What operating system are you using? |
MS Windows 98 (98SE recommended) or higher for using the Xtention LMS. |
What browser are you using? |
The Xtention LMS does not work with Netscape and other browsers. It should be used with Internet Explorer. |
If browser is Internet Explorer, what version are you using? |
MS Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher is recommended to be used with the Xtention LMS. |
What is your connection speed? |
Your connection speed should not be a problem unless you are trying to run content with a lot of Flash or large graphic files. This might cause your system to run slowly. |
Are you using a home network? If so, does your router have a firewall? |
You may need to open up ports. This is done through your firewall software. Please consult your firewall documentation for information on how to do this. |
Are you using customized security settings? If so, are you taking courses with rich content, such as Flash? |
Enable “Run Active-x controls and plug-ins”. To do this in Internet Explorer, go to Tools – Internet Options. Click on the Security tab and then click Custom Level… Under ActiveX controls and plug-ins verify that Run ActiveX controls and plugins is set to Enable. |
What are your privacy settings? Do you allow cookies to be set? |
You may need to enable cookies. To do this in Internet Explorer, go to Tools – Internet Options. Click on the Privacy tab and change the settings for cookies. |
If used from a company, are you using a proxy server? |
Your company’s proxy server may prevent some activity. |
Has it been 60 days or more since you launched the course? |
Your password will expire after 60 days. |
